Two months from today, we are scheduled to be in Nashville, Tennessee, for SEDC’s annual conference. But as we all know, our lives changed many weeks ago with the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and for the foreseeable future, our ability to gather is questionable.
In our recent membership survey regarding your comfort level to travel to Nashville, we discovered that even if the city was at a phase to host gatherings, you were not sure if you would be comfortable in attending.
So, after careful consideration, your board of directors voted today to move our annual conference to a virtual platform. With this change in content delivery, we are adjusting the programming to deliver the most pertinent and timely information during these difficult times and to follow our theme, “Disruption.” We will be announcing the updated program in just a few days.
In addition to great presentations, we are planning some fun and entertaining activities to keep you engaged between breaks that will take advantage of the virtual platform.
Our virtual event will take place over the same days, August 17-18, 2020. Our plans are for a virtual event broadcasting from Nashville, with a combination of “on stage” presentations and others brought to our stage virtually. We will continue to monitor the situation in Nashville regarding the ability for "gathering." If possible, we will open up a registration option to attend the event face -to- face as we broadcast from Nashville.
In just a few days, we will announce more program details and the pricing structure for the new virtual program.
