Join Us Virtually | Managing NIMBYism

Event Details

Join fellow economic development professionals for an open discussion on navigating NIMBYism (Not In My Backyard) and building community support for economic development projects. Facilitated by Lisha Morlan, Executive Director of the Roane County Economic Development Authority in West Virginia, this roundtable will explore how to address community concerns, communicate the value of proposed projects, build trust with residents and stakeholders, and navigate opposition while keeping projects moving forward. Together, we’ll discuss strategies for balancing community input with long-term economic development goals.

Come ready to participate! This roundtable is designed for open, candid conversation, so bring your experiences, questions, and ideas. Share challenges you’ve encountered, discuss approaches that have worked (or haven't), and learn from how your colleagues are building support for growth in their communities.
