SEDC to Advance American South Brand in Europe

The Southern Economic Development Council, through the “Team American South” FDI program, will advance European engagement in 2026. Guided by the SEDC Foreign Direct Investment Committee, the Council’s international strategy centers on three pillars: education, public affairs, and international missions. To align these efforts, SEDC has adopted a geographic framework that concentrates each year on a single region. Informed by a member survey and consultations with globally active economic development leaders, SEDC has selected Germany as the 2026 focus country. To elevate the American South’s visibility and create direct opportunities for our thriving, business-ready communities, SEDC is proud to announce the 2026 FDI Mission Calendar.

For each mission, SEDC members will have the opportunity to join the American South delegation. The Council will arrange qualified prospect meetings, delivered by a third party lead generation firm, with businesses that have shown intent or interest in establishing or expanding operations in the United States. SEDC will also engage international trade and commerce partners to strengthen collaboration and attract high value relationships and investment. In addition, SEDC will continue its engagement at the 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit.

Participation is first come, first served, and space is limited. Members are encouraged to join multiple events. A $500 member discount applies when registering for two international missions. A $1,000 discount applies when registering for all three German events.
