Aqua Membranes to Establish Tennessee Manufacturing Presence in Knox County

SEDC News,

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Deputy Gov. and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter and Aqua Membranes officials announced today the company is expanding its manufacturing operations, selecting Knoxville, Tennessee, as its first location outside its headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Aqua Membranes will create 94 new jobs and invest $6.6 million as the company constructs its newest facility in the Forks of the River Valley Industrial Park. Through the project, the company will significantly expand its manufacturing capacity, support large-scale customer contracts, and accelerate the adoption of its RO membrane technology across the globe.

Founded in 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Aqua Membranes is a leader in global water treatment. The company has developed a cutting-edge solution that replaces traditional mesh feed channels in spiral wound membranes. By replacing the mesh spacer with their patented Printed Spacer Technology®, they achieve energy savings, increased flow, reduced cleaning frequency, and longer membrane life. Their membranes have proven these outcomes at commercial installations around the world. The Knoxville facility will mark its second location, allowing them to scale production and meet growing demand.
