Position Title: Project Manager, Business Attraction

Reports to: President & CEO

Ascension Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping Ascension Parish’s future by attracting businesses that create quality jobs and investment. This position leads business attraction efforts, manages active projects, and supports strategic marketing and communications initiatives. AEDC is at the forefront of innovative economic development strategies, and this role will contribute to transformative, high-impact projects.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• Exceptional marketing and business communication skills
• Strong analytical capability, including financial and data interpretation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for proposals and presentations
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Essential Functions:

• Manage and support business attraction projects that drive job creation and capital investment
• Develop and procure marketing materials, including brochures, digital content, and advertising copy
• Respond to inquiries from new business prospects, site location consultants, real estate agents, economic development partners, and others promptly
• Maintain and update databases of available sites, buildings, and project leads
• Support site selection processes for prospective companies
• Track and report on active and pipeline projects
• Coordinate with education and workforce partners on talent development strategies
• Assist with website updates and ensure content accuracy
• Plan and support events such as announcements, groundbreakings, and press conferences

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, economic development, real estate development, business, project management, or related field is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred/Desirable Qualifications:

• Demonstrated success in business attraction, lead generation, and project conversion
• Experience working with site selectors, brokers, or economic development organizations
• Familiarity with land use, planning, and development processes
• Strong media and stakeholder engagement experience
• Political and organizational awareness
