The Franklin-Simpson Industrial Authority is seeking an experienced economic development
professional to serve as its next Executive Director. This leadership role offers the opportunity
to drive strategic growth, lead business recruitment efforts, and strengthen a thriving South
Central Kentucky community.

About the Role
The Executive Director will lead economic development initiatives focused on business
attraction, retention, and expansion, while aligning local assets with regional and state
opportunities. This individual will serve as the primary ambassador for the Authority and a key
partner to public and private stakeholders. 

Key Responsibilities
Economic Development Leadership
 Develop and execute strategies for business recruitment, retention, and expansion
 Market available sites and assets to prospective industries
 Build relationships with site selectors, developers, and state/regional partners
Strategic & Organizational Leadership
 Implement the Authority’s strategic plan and measurable outcomes
 Serve as chief advisor to the board and guide policy direction
 Advocate for infrastructure, workforce, and site development initiatives
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
 Strengthen partnerships with local government, utilities, workforce agencies, and
business leaders
 Represent the Authority in regional and statewide economic development efforts
Operations & Financial Management
 Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and funding strategies
 Ensure compliance with public-sector regulations and best practices

Ideal Candidate Profile
 Proven success in economic development, site selection, or business recruitment
 Strong understanding of industrial development, incentives, and project management
 Experience working with public-private partnerships
 Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives from concept through project completion
 Skilled communicator with strong relationship-building capabilities

Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; advanced degree preferred
 Relevant leadership experience in economic development or a related field
 Residency in Simpson County required within six months
