Paulding County Economic Development Names Alex Almodóvar as New President & CEO
(Dallas, Georgia- September 2025) The Paulding County Economic Development (PCED) has named Alex Almodóvar, MPA, AICP, President and Chief Executive Officer of the organization. The Chason Group (TCG) led the executive search for the economic development organization.
Almodóvar most recently served as Development Director for the City of Acworth, Georgia, where he managed the city’s comprehensive economic development efforts—including business recruitment and retention, downtown revitalization, and public-private partnerships. Under his leadership, Acworth has earned the prestigious PlanFirst Community designation from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs and implemented a sweeping overhaul of its zoning ordinance and character overlay district.
"Alex is a dynamic leader who understands how to connect vision with execution,” said Virginia Galloway, chair of the PCED Board of Directors. “His deep knowledge of the region, commitment to community engagement, and experience fostering smart, sustainable development make him the right choice to lead Paulding County into its next chapter of growth.”
As a current Paulding County resident, Almodóvar brings strong regional ties and a passion for local impact. At the City of Acworth, he also led the establishment of the city’s Development Authority, coordinated multi-jurisdictional planning initiatives, and oversaw a $1.1 million departmental budget, as well as a team of eight across planning, zoning, code compliance, GIS, and building services.
“Paulding County is uniquely positioned to become a hub for innovation, business expansion, and quality of life,” said Almodóvar. “As both a professional and resident, I am honored to help shape its
future and build on the strong foundation already in place.”
The Chason Group, an executive search firm specializing in economic development and nonprofit leadership, assisted the PCED in managing the executive search process.
