The Moore County Economic Development Partnership (MCEDP) is currently seeking a passionate leader to join our team as its first Vice President. The right candidate should be a strategic thinker, a relationship-builder, a results-driven leader, and a motivated professional ready to make an impact in a growing community with a diverse economy.
The Role and Our Organization
As Vice President, you’ll be the President’s partner in setting strategy and running the organization, and you’ll lead the business development and retention work that moves Moore County’s economy forward. This is a newly created, second-in-command position where you’ll have a real voice in strategy and budget, ownership of prospect relationships, and executive-level responsibilities.
MCEDP is a 501c(3) not-for-profit economic development organization and public-private partnership serving all of Moore County, NC (Population approx. 110,000). We work collaboratively with our partners and local governments to attract new businesses and support existing businesses, building more than the economy as we advance our mission to:

What You’ll Do
- Partner with the President on strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational leadership, and step in for the President when needed, from external representation to day-to-day operations.
- Lead our business attraction, expansion, and retention strategy, including our highest-priority prospect relationships and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Run the BRE program and drive industrial and commercial site and building development.
- Build senior-level relationships with site selectors, commercial real estate brokers, and state and regional partners such as EDPNC and NC Commerce.
- Lead and develop staff, and manage contract service providers and interns.
- Be a visible voice for MCEDP on boards, task forces, and committees, and in public conversations about the county’s economy.
- Coordinate workforce development efforts with partner organizations.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in economic development, business attraction, community development, planning, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience supervising staff.
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, urban planning, or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license.
