Position Overview
The Director of Economic Development plays a vital role in driving business growth and
executing the Chamber’s economic development mission. This is a high-impact, highly
visible leadership position responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives,
managing real-time documentation in CRM systems, and ensuring rigorous site response
coordination. You will be responsible for cultivating strong stakeholder relationships while
leading the charge on industry engagement, sector strategy, and lead development across
the 10-county region. Success in this role requires a detail-oriented and analytical mindset,
capable of driving results independently while maintaining discipline across projects,

Key Responsibilities
 Manage the Existing Targeted Business Program including visit scheduling, data
capture, and expansion planning.
 Oversee economic development leads and projects through the CRM system of record
with real-time documentation and updates.
 Collaborate with the VP of Economic Development on sector strategy and attraction
efforts for high-priority industries.
 Coordinate and lead site response efforts to RFI/RFP requests from state and national
partners.
 Maintain and build relationships with site consultants, brokers, and other lead
aggregators.
 Deliver reports and presentations to Chamber boards, senior leadership, and
community partners.
 Support regional partnerships and extended service contracts across South-Central
Kentucky.
 Maintain compliance and discipline across dashboards, Salesforce entries, and incentive
tracking workflows.
Required Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, public administration, or related field.
 5+ years of economic development, project management, or business development
experience.
 Proven track record of initiative, independent decision-making, and driving strategic
outcomes.
 Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and maintain CRM
discipline.
 Strong written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented and analytical.
 Proficiency in CRM’s (HubSpot, Salesforce, or a similar platform) and Microsoft Office
Suite.
