Letter from the Communication Committee Chairman Kevin Johnson
I am honored to serve as the newly appointed Communications Chairman for SEDC. As we all know, effective communication is critical to the success of our organization, and I am committed to ensuring that we continue to improve our communication strategies and outreach.
My background includes over 14 years of experience supporting economic development throughout the U.S. This includes 7 years working for Georgia Power's Economic Development department and 7 years with KBD Group, a design-build firm. Additionally, I previously served as the communication committee chairman for GEDA for 3 years and as SEDC's education committee chair for 2 years.
As the new Communications Chairman for SEDC, I am excited to build upon the strong foundation of our existing communication efforts. By working together and embracing new ideas and technologies, we can elevate our communication efforts and continue to build stronger connections within our organization.
One of our first initiatives will be the launch of the newly branded American South Advantage newsletter, which will showcase our members’ great work and provide valuable insights into economic development trends and best practices. I believe that this newsletter will be a powerful tool to enhance our communication efforts and keep our members informed and engaged.
I am calling on members with a background in marketing or communication to join us in this exciting endeavor. Together, we can leverage our collective expertise to enhance our communication efforts and better showcase the great work that our members are doing.
I look forward to collaborating with you and the rest of the SEDC team to make our communication efforts even more effective and impactful. Let's work together to share our successes, inspire new ideas, and drive economic growth in the American South.
