Koinonia establishing operations in Sunflower County, MS
Jackson, Miss. (Oct. 13, 2026) – Koinonia, a startup plastics manufacturer, is establishing manufacturing operations in Drew. The project represents a corporate investment of $7.7 million and will create 18 jobs over the next five years.
Koinonia will manufacture products that serve the region’s agricultural chemical packaging industry, with plans for additional applications in the broader packaging space. The company is purchasing and rehabilitating an existing 40,000-square-foot facility in Sunflower County, installing new equipment and preparing approximately 150,000 square feet of surrounding concrete surface to accommodate future growth.
The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for the project through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, program. Sunflower County is supporting the project, as well.
The company plans to begin operations by January.
