Regional Project Manager, Existing Industry & Regional Recruitment

Overview. The Chason Group, Inc. has been selected to conduct a talent search for a professional to serve as an economic development Regional Project Manager, Existing Industry and Regional Recruitment for the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD). Tim Chason is working with the GDEcD to coordinate the search. The office location for the position will be Midtown Atlanta with extensive time and travel in the region.

About the Georgia Department of Economic Development. The GDEcD is the state’s lead agency for attracting new business investments; encouraging the expansion of existing industries; and supporting small businesses. GDEcD is also responsible for identifying new markets for Georgia-made products; attracting tourists to Georgia; promoting the state as a destination venue for arts events and location sites for film, music, and digital entertainment projects.

Region 3 (Metro Atlanta). The Regional Project Manager will work with existing industries in the Metro Atlanta footprint. Counties in the service area include Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, and Rockdale, making the region the largest concentration of existing industries compared to any other area of Georgia.

Position Responsibilities. The full-time Regional Project Manager will be responsible for business development efforts targeting existing companies and prospective businesses in the region. The successful candidate’s primary goal will be to assist existing Georgia companies with facility expansions in partnership with state, local and other officials.

Minimum Qualifications. Candidates applying for the Regional Project Manager position should have a minimum of two years experience in the economic development, community development or a business development field(s). A solid grasp of Georgia’s pro-business climate will add to the candidate’s qualifications.

The GDEcD is seeking a professional who is self-motivated; possesses excellent communication and customer service skills, and has the ability to establish value-added relationships with government and business leaders. Candidate must have the ability to work well with others or independently, when necessary, and possess the ability to adapt to change quickly.
