President/CEO - Sherman, Texas
The Sherman Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) is accepting applications for their next President/CEO. Located approximately 40 miles north of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, the City of Sherman has a population of approximately 40,000 and is the county seat of Grayson County. Sherman is a welcoming and family-friendly community with award-winning schools, a low cost of living, and a revitalized downtown. SEDCO works closely with the Sherman City Council to annually adopt a Plan of Work to guide the development, redevelopment, and community enhancement in Sherman and the surrounding area.
The ideal candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in economic development, public administration, business administration, marketing, or a closely related field; a master’s degree is preferred. CEcD or PCED certification is desirable. The position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in economic development. Residency within the City of Sherman or its ETJ is required within six months of hire date.
