Faith Technologies to invest $79 million in Opelika, AL manufacturing expansion

February 25, 2026 - OPELIKA, Alabama – Faith Technologies (FTI) plans to open an advanced manufacturing facility for modular solutions in Opelika, a significant new investment that will grow the region’s skilled workforce.

The company will spend more than $79 million to transform the former JoAnn Stores Distribution Center in the Northeast Opelika Industrial Park. The move will create about 200 full-time jobs with an average annual wage topping $65,000.

Under its Excellerate brand, FTI provides modular solutions and electrical assemblies for a wide range of projects. The company pairs a modular construction model with lean manufacturing principles to break projects into standarized components that are prefabricated at facilities and delivered ready for installation.

The approach increases cost savings, productivity and safety for clients across multiple industries. FTI currently operates facilities in Appleton, Wisconsin and Olathe, Kansas, and is developing additional capacity in El Paso, Texas and Pittsboro, Indiana.

Alabama Department of Commerce Secretary Ellen McNair said the investment demonstrates the state’s competitive position in advanced manufacturing.

“Faith Technologies’ $79 million investment in Opelika demonstrates Alabama’s growing strength as a premier destination for advanced manufacturing and innovation,” McNair said. “This project brings 200 high-quality jobs to East Alabama, reinforcing our state’s competitive advantages—a skilled workforce, strategic location and pro-business climate.”

Opelika Mayor Eddie Smith said the company’s decision reflects confidence in the community’s workforce and business environment.

“This investment represents more than new jobs and new facilities. It reflects confidence in our people, our leadership and our business-friendly environment,” Smith said. “Faith Technologies will be an important partner in our community as they help shape the future of modern infrastructure and data-driven industries.”

David Scott, Chairman of the Opelika Industrial Development Authority, welcomed the company to the region.

“Our community is excited to support your growth as you bring innovative electrical modular manufacturing and high-quality jobs to Opelika,” Scott said. “Your investment strengthens Opelika’s position as a hub for advanced industry and aligns perfectly with our skilled workforce and business-friendly environment.”

The rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly increased demand for hyperscale data centers nationwide. More than a decade ago, FTI began pioneering industrialized construction by building electrical components in controlled environments for jobsite installation.

Today, the company’s modular approach results in enhanced efficiency, improved quality and reduced labor hours—critical factors as the data management industry continues to expand and companies seek long-term partners with established manufacturing capabilities.

John Sweatman, Economic Development Director for the City of Opelika, said the project positions the community for continued growth in advanced industry.

“Faith Technologies’ decision to locate in Opelika is a strong endorsement of our community, our workforce and our long-term economic vision,” Sweatman said. “Their innovative approach to modular manufacturing and their role in supporting the rapidly expanding data and AI sector fit squarely within the type of forward-looking, high-quality growth we are working to attract.”

Opelika’s highly skilled workforce and business-friendly approach align with FTI’s growth objectives, positioning the new operation for future development and continued investment.
