Reading the Market: Using Hospitality and Tourism Data for Economic Development Strategy.

Most EDCs treat hospitality and tourism data as a tourism-board issue rather than an economic development signal. However, visitor spending, hotel pipeline activity, and occupancy trends can be some of the earliest indicators of where investment, business activity, and population growth are heading. This session would walk SEDC members through how to interpret and apply that data, using CoStar and available public data as a live example they can replicate for their own markets.
