Professional Bio
Ryan Nance has held leadership roles in economic development at both local and state levels, with a significant focus on the electric utility sector throughout his career. Since joining North Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives in 2019, he’s steered their statewide strategy for economic development with a mission to empower communities’ efforts towards prosperity thru business growth, job creation, and overall quality of life improvements.
Previously, Ryan worked at the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina in various capacities, culminating in his role as Director of Business Development, where he led efforts to proactively identify and cultivate new business prospects for the state.
Born and raised in Lumberton, NC, Ryan worked in textile manufacturing and small business before earning degrees from NC State and an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill. He serves on committees with Touchstone Energy, NCEDA, and volunteers with his local F3 region to get dads and their kids into fitness. Currently residing in Apex, Ryan enjoys outdoor adventures with his two boys and Hurricanes hockey.
