Director of Economic Development - City of Grapevine, Texas

Grapevine, Texas, with a population of over 54,000 residents and covering 35 square miles, is located in Northeast Tarrant County and is home to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Ideally situated along Interstate Highway 635, and State Highways 114, and 121, Grapevine sits at the heart of the DFW metropolitan area, 21 miles northwest of Dallas, and 19 miles northeast of Fort Worth.

The City of Grapevine operates under a Council-Manager form of government.  The City Council is comprised of a Mayor and six City Council Members.  The Economic Development Department provides assistance in business attraction, relocation, and retention for the City of Grapevine. Reporting directly to the City Manager, the selected candidate will be an experienced economic development professional with the ability to successfully work and contribute in a team environment, while remaining flexible and adaptable during times of change.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in economic development, public or business administration, marketing, economics, or a closely related field.  The selected candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience, with at least three years of supervisory experience. Municipal economic development and redevelopment experience are desired and an IEDC certification is preferred.
