Position:         Technology and Research Specialist

The Technology and Research Specialist is responsible for professional statistical analysis and research work related to supporting location comparisons and the presentation thereof.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities: Compiles, verifies and analyzes Request for Information/Proposal Responses for submittal in presentation format. Utilizes knowledge base of federal and state resources to study topics in economic and community development. Intensive statistical analysis of key economic, financial and socioeconomic indicators. Metrics requiring concentrated analysis include job growth, unemployment, occupational and industry metrics, and educational attainment.

Researches tax structure and business incentives in all U.S. states. Engages in comparative analysis of state and local economies and markets, as well as International resources when necessary. Researches and presents Cost Comparative Analysis for finalist location candidates. Accesses and assists with management and analysis of internal databases (GIS mapping with population characteristics and employment characteristics, wage rates and others). Researches and presents all sources for States Rated for Doing Business data.

Familiar with statistical measures including distributions, percentiles, and variability. Creates graphical representations of outcomes produced by data analysis.

Familiar with the use of Social Media in the field of Site Location Consultants.


        Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, applied statistics, other social/behavioral sciences, business, business administration, or public policy.

        Minimum two years full-time professional work developing research methodology and/or directing statistical research or working with market research or marketing firm. Master’s degree may be substituted for full time work experience.

        Strong oral and written communication skills. A writing sample may be required.

        Mastery of Microsoft Office products (excel, access, word, outlook).

        Demonstrated background with impact analysis and various statistical/data modeling programs.

        Proficiency in GIS software preferred.

        Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.

        Ability to work as part of a small team.

        Strong time management skills.


Salary Range:

The Base Salary ranges between $60,000 and $70,000; plus profit sharing; plus bonuses (profit sharing and bonuses typically equate to 25 to 30% of the base salary depending on the continued strong success of the Company each year).
