Reporting directly to the County Manager, this executive-level position provides the overall direction and management of the Economic Development Office, which is responsible for planning and promoting the economic development of the County.

The primary functions of this key leadership position are to provide guidance and oversee the primary programs and activities of the Economic Development office to include industry retention and expansion assistance; new business and industry recruitment; ombudsman assistance to the area business community; international business and trade development; economic and business research; and small business enterprise development. Other primary responsibilities include supporting and cultivating local boards and task forces, such as the Horizon Council and Industrial Development Authority, and developing and maintaining positive relationships with their members.


This position requires any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for satisfactory job performance. Acceptable combinations include a Bachelor's degree in public/business administration, urban planning, economics, finance or related field and six (6) years of experience in economic development, community development or redevelopment activities in the public or private sector. A related graduate degree is desirable.

Possession of a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record is required.


The annual salary range is $77,482.60 - $124,614.88, with a competitive benefits package.  The starting salary will be based upon the knowledge and experience of the individual.  For additional information on benefits, please visit: The County participates in the Florida Retirement System.
