Director of Economic Development
The City of Leander, TX

The City of Leander, Texas, is seeking a new Director of Economic Development. Surrounded by the Texas Hill County, Leander, with a population of over 36,000, is located on the northern edge of the Austin metro area. Williamson County has realized the fastest rate of income growth in Texas and sixth-highest in the nation.


The Department of Economic Development is an organization within the municipal government of the City. Leander has set aside 2,300 acres around the terminus of the MetroRail line for Transit Oriented Development. Leander enjoys triple Freeport status and has a foreign trade zone designation.


Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. CEcD, PCED, and/or EDFP certification desired. A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in IEDC recognized management highly preferred.
