The Greenwood Partnership Alliance, a public/private partnership, is seeking a compelling, strategic, and innovative leader with a legacy of accomplishments, integrity and business ethics to lead Greenwood County, SC’s economic development efforts to improve economic growth and educational achievement in order to enhance the quality of life in Greenwood County.

Strategic initiatives include industrial recruiting, existing industry retention and expansion, workforce, commercial, retail, entrepreneurial, and community development.

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s preferred. A minimum of seven to ten years of progressively responsible economic development experience is required, with a minimum of five years of this being in a senior leadership role or a combination of equivalent and relevant experience and education to fulfill the job. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to collaborate with leaders of the community and stakeholders, as well as diverse groups from the general public, business and industry to implement methods and techniques of economic growth and development. SCCED and/or CEcD certification, preferred. Familiarity of SC’s economic development network and incentives is a plus. Candidate must reside in Greenwood County or be willing to relocate within six months of accepting the position.

Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel both domestically and internationally on an independent basis.
