FREDERICKSBURG REGIONAL ALLIANCE, VIRGINIA (FRA). President. The Fredericksburg Regional Alliance, created in 2000, is seeking a dynamic, energetic and visionary professional to serve as its next President. The Fredericksburg Region, strategically located in Virginia's ‘Golden Crescent’, between Washington, D.C. and Virginia’s capital city, Richmond, includes the City of Fredericksburg and the Counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford. The 1,400 square mile region has a trade area of more than 425,000 people. The FRA President leads the Alliance Board and staff in providing corporate leaders and site-selection specialists with a single, comprehensive source for demographic, economic, and commercial real estate information for the Region while working collaboratively with member local governments in creating new jobs and expanding the economic base of the Fredericksburg Region.

Minimum qualifications for competitive candidates include a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Planning or Public Administration or a related field with a Master’s Degree preferred. Candidates should also possess a minimum of five to ten years’ of public or private sector experience in the field of community and/or economic development planning and execution and have three/five years in  a supervisory role. Possession of CeCD and other economic development certifications is considered a plus. The ideal candidate should also possess considerable experience interacting with a variety of local governments, public agencies, private sector partners and prospective businesses in interpreting and communicating complex issues to groups with varying interests. A competitive candidate will demonstrate past success in working with others to develop and implement a vision and communicating with, and bringing together, various groups to foster creative and practical solutions related to regional economic development issues. Prior experience should also include successful management and administration of internal operations of a comparably sized organization, an understanding of the importance of organizational fundraising and demonstrated success in developing and maintaining a strong staff.

The salary for the position is negotiable, based upon qualifications and experience. Excellent benefit package includes retirement, vacation, discretionary and sick leave, group life insurance, medical insurance, negotiated vehicle allowance and professional dues and conference expenses.  Relocation allowance provided.
