Annual Salary: (competitive, negotiable based on experience and qualifications) and excellent benefit package.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, Planning, or closely related field; supplemented by six (6) years of experience in economic or community development or real estate development. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.Must possess or be able to acquire US Passport for international travel. Preference will be given to Certified Economic Developers (CEcD).


NATURE OF WORK: The purpose of this position is to direct and provide staff assistance for the activities of the Cordele/Crisp Industrial Development Authority.



This executive management position plans, organizes, and implements an economic development program to promote the growth and development of the City and County’s economic base, assists in the retention and expansion of existing businesses, and vigorously seeks out new businesses for the City and County.


The successful IDA Executive Director is a self-motivated, innovative leader with excellent communication and presentation skills who is willing to occupy a highly visible position in the community, work closely with business and developmental interests.

Directs economic development initiatives to achieve the goals and objectives outlined by the IDA. Provides assistance in the development of short and long term economic and community development plans, as well as the gathering of information and preparation of studies, reports, and recommendations to achieve such goals. This will involve the preparation and maintenance of information on utilities, taxes, zoning, transportation, community services, financing tools, and incentives, in order to respond to requests for information for economic development purposes, and the coordination with other departments and agencies as needed.
