Economic Developer

We’re ElectriCities, the management services company working on behalf of North Carolina’s public power communities. We are looking for a dynamic, team player to join our team as an Economic Developer in our Raleigh, NC location.


This individual will support the organization’s efforts to provide public power communities in North Carolina with support in attracting new business and development opportunities within their communities.


Primary responsibilities of the Economic Developer include, but are not limited to:


·       Keep current records, files, and statistics on sites and buildings, county labor, demographics, maps, county profiles, and growth announcements.


·       Develop and maintain a list of site selection consultants and real estate firms.


·       Assist members in the selection of companies, development of materials, coordination for direct mail projects and recruitment programs, and production of customer proposals.


·       Assist in the development of workshops relative to marketing and economic development activities for the participants.


·       Maintain and enhance relationships with community leaders, business/industry representatives, regional partnership members, local consultants, real estate professionals and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina.



Qualified candidates will possess the following:


·       B.S. or B.A. Degree from a four-year university.  A degree in business marketing or economics is preferred. 


·       A minimum of three to five years of related economic development business research experience is required, including strong skills in data collection and analysis and knowledge of local, state, and federal planning laws.


·       Excellent interpersonal communications and public speaking skills are required.


·       The Economic Developer should also possess strong customer service skills and be willing to travel up to 75% of the time.
