Executive Director - NWPID

Under general direction of the NWPID Board of Directors, the Executive Director plans, organizes and implements economic development activities including recruitment, retention, and expansion; grant writing/administration for infrastructure development; overall management of industrial park;  and supervising NWPID administrative assistant and water superintendent.  The Executive Director is responsible for preparing / overseeing NWPID financial records in compliance with state regulatory requirements.   The Executive Director works closely with local, regional and state, economic development partners, and applicable utility and government officials.


Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         Work collaboratively with prospects, consultants, various statewide economic development organizations, and others related to myriad economic development issues.

·         Supports initiatives to expand/enhance existing industry; workforce development.

·         Work with partners to develop sufficient infrastructure to support future development.

·         Coordinates detailed information to new/existing businesses contemplating relocation/expansion.

·         Organizes economic, market, and demographic data for dissemination.

·         Responds to requests for proposals/qualifications.

·         Participates in the negotiation, preparation and processing of documents/agreements as required

·         Ensures compliance with open records requirements

·         Manage website / online presence

·         Prepare / supervise budgetary activity

·         Demonstrated execution of customer service

·         Creative and strategic thinking ability

·         Strong knowledge of industrial development/site selection process


Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution required, preferably in business, marketing, public administration, or economics.  A Master's degree is preferred. Any combination of education and experience providing knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to succeed in the position is acceptable. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in progressively senior, full time economic/business development position in either the public/private sector preferred. CEcD designation is desirable.  However, candidates with relevant experience/education encouraged to apply. Experience working with rural/underserved communities and/or workforce development initiatives a plus.

Residency:  Candidate will be required to live within 60 miles as soon as possible after accepting position.

COMPENSATION:  Competitive salary ($90-$110) DOE; health insurance, and reasonable relocation reimbursement.
