President and Chief Executive Officer

The President and CEO will promote Dickson County, plan strategies to identify, target and attract new business, as well as assist existing businesses in operations and expansions. The position, which reports to the Executive Committee of the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce, will manage the Economic Development and Tourism Division and be responsible for economic development activities, existing business development, tourism promotion, and Chamber-related activities. The main focus of the position will be industrial and retail economic development. The role will include work with various partners including the cities, the county, public utilities as well as local, state and federal agencies, and private enterprise.
A degree in economic development, business administration, public administration, or related field is preferred; CEcD certification desired. The candidate should have a minimum of five years of relevant experience, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position, will be considered.
Experience as an industry and business recruiter is one qualification that is very important. Additional job skills that are required include the ability to work with local government officials and community leaders, leadership and supervisory abilities, excellent oral presentation and written communication in business and social settings, the ability to manage a multitude of tasks, including implementing the programs and goals of the Chamber, managing staff, and developing relationships with the existing Chamber membership.
