BUSINESS EXPANSION MANAGER
Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP)
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an experienced sales and marketing professional for the Business Expansion Department to build relationships and aggressively promote Virginia to business and industry. This position will support existing Virginia businesses in positioning expansions to generate leads.
Candidates must possess considerable successful, executive level sales and marketing experience in a corporate business environment or in a local or regional economic development office, including demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a sales and marketing plan to effectively close deals. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to manage in a team environment and leverage partners in the public and private sectors, including higher education partners, and local and regional economic development partners. The Business Expansion Manager must have excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Applicants must also have strong organizational skills and be able to plan and successfully manage multiple marketing projects. Proficiency in using multiple PC software packages and multiple digital communication devices is required. Experience with Salesforce is a plus. Instate travel is required. A valid driverâ€™s license is required. Undergraduate/graduate degree in marketing, business administration or economics is preferred. Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation or other industry certification is a plus. Salary minimum: $57,219. Salary commensurate with experience.
